Where Are You Headed ?

Life can be confusing!  Every day we are faced with choices. Some are easy, like what to eat for breakfast or which shirt to wear, but other times the answer isn’t so easy to see.  Especially when it comes to social and moral questions.  Have you ever done something you weren't sure was OK just because everyone else was doing it, or because no one was looking?  Sure, we all have at one time or another.

Unfortunately the world we live in allows us to get away with some of those things just long enough for us to get stuck.  You see, when we do the same things over and over again with no penalty or consequence, our conscience becomes seared to their effect.  Things we first thought might not be OK become normal for us.  When out of nowhere it catches up to us and we pay the price,  only then do we cry out, how could this have happened? How did I ever let it get this far?  Have you ever been there before?  Most of us would have to say yes and more than once for many.

Why does it have to be this way?  How can we know what the right choice is, and how can we keep from making the same mistakes over and over again?  Well for this we must understand the problem!

THE SOLUTION

The “good news" (Romans 1:16) of God’s Word is that a “second Adam” has provided salvation for us from sin and death (Genesis 3:15);(Romans 5:12-21); (I Corinthians 15:45).

God Himself came to earth in the person of Jesus Christ to live a perfect life, to die for our sin in our place, and to rise from the dead, defeating death so that we might be given His Salvation and eternal life (II Corinthians 5:21); (I Peter 3:18).

THE INVITATION
The Bible says that if you choose to turn away from your sin and trust in Him alone as the only One who can save you from your real eternal predicament, God will forgive your sin and grant you eternal life with Him (
John 3:16).  And so, God lovingly extends to you this hope: “if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9); (Acts 4:12).

God has made a way for us to overcome ourselves, our sin and this broken world. We need only accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.  God has also been kind enough to give us the directions to find our way through this confusing world in His Holy Word the Bible.

Won't you accept this gift of salvation and get on the right road before it’s too late?

THE PROBLEM
Sin is at the base of every bad thing we do, and even good things that a lost person does can be defiled by Sin.  The Bible says, "even their mind and conscience is defiled"
(Titus 1:15-16).  Everyone who has ever lived has had this same problem, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).  God is Holy and can tolerate no sin, so all sin must be dealt with, paid for with a cost.  "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23).

The Bible tells us that “it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: ” (Hebrews 9:27).  "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire"(Revelation 20:15).

Originally, the one God created this world in perfection (Genesis 1:31), and the first man and woman (Adam and Eve) were able to completely enjoy life on earth, without the suffering, pain, evil, and death that we experience today.

However, when they disobeyed God (Genesis 3:6), they began to experience the effects of sin that God warned them about – namely, suffering and death (Genesis 2:15-17); (Genesis 3:16-19).  God’s Word tells us that every human since Adam has been born a sinner, willingly perpetuated that sin (Romans 3:10), (Romans 3:23), and reaped its resulting consequences of eternal death (Romans 6:23); (Revelation 20:15).
